About photo_edited.jpg

I’m a ceramic sculptor based out of Oakland, California. My practice is centered around hand-built abstract forms with heavily textured surfaces. My work references nature through abstraction — not by depicting specific organisms or landscapes, but through the use of organic forms and surfaces that evoke processes like erosion, growth, and decay. I’m interested in objects that feel as though they’ve developed over time rather than been constructed.

Most of my pieces begin without a fixed plan. I work intuitively, building slowly and responding to the form as it develops. The surface is central to my practice. Through layering, mark-making, and glaze, I create textures that suggest accretion, deterioration, and transformation.
